Your practice stays on your device
Daypause stores meditation history, optional feeling check-ins, preferences, daily completion, and same-day paused progress in protected local app storage. No account is required. The app has no advertising, analytics SDKs, tracking, or connection to a Daypause server. We do not receive your meditation history or Health data.
Audio, permissions, and reminders
English AI-generated narration is bundled with the app and plays offline. Playing a meditation does not send text or audio to a server. Daypause does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or location. Reminders are optional local notifications, scheduled after you allow them. Today’s reminder is omitted if you have completed today’s meditation.
Optional Apple Health connection
With your permission, Daypause writes actual time spent meditating as Mindful Minutes, including partial sessions. Pauses and skipped sections are excluded. The app does not read existing Health records. Unsaved intervals remain in protected local storage for retry; sync identifiers prevent duplicate writes. Disconnect in the app to stop future writes. Manage authorization and existing records in Apple Health. Apple controls Health storage, syncing, and backups according to your settings.
Backups, exports, and deletion
Your operating system may include app data in device backups according to your settings. You can export JSON backups and CSV history through the system share sheet; these include history and check-ins, and you choose where to send them. Restore merges saved history and preferences without granting reminder or Health access or replaying old Health writes. Earlier testing versions’ breathing and stretching records remain available in exports. You can erase local app data in You → Manage data, which also removes scheduled reminders. This does not erase earlier exports, device backups, or records already saved in Apple Health. Deleting a history entry does not reopen a meditation completed that day.
